The Chi Phi Fraternity has held a strong and historic presence at the University of Georgia since the founding of its Eta Chapter in 1867. This year, we are establishing the “Chi Phi for a Cause” initiative through a partnership with the FACT Relief Foundation, a non-profit organization that specializes in raising funds to support patients and families affected by medical crises such as cancer, heart attack, stroke, accident, and injury.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to give back to both current members and alumni of Chi Phi who have suffered or who have had loved ones suffer from ALS. Our event this year honors Ben Jennings, beloved Atlanta native and Chi Phi alumnus who tragically passed away from ALS in early 2021.
Our donation goal is to beat the UGA Greek Life philanthropy fundraising record of $175,000, and to continue to raise money and dedicate our efforts to this cause for years to come.
We will be hosting two parties in early 2022 in support of Chi Phi for a Cause and the FACT Relief Foundation.
These two events provide a great opportunity to bring together current members, alumni, family, friends, and other donors, with the purpose of spreading awareness and raising money for a cause that will make a concrete and substantial difference in the lives of many.

GameDay is becoming a staple in Athens these days. The Chi Phi house was lucky enough to be featured on ESPN GameDay when the Fighting Irish visited the Dawgs in Athens in 2019. Many alumni were able to join us to showcase our Chi Phi brotherhood.
What an amazing legacy of Chi Phi as we celebrated the 150 year anniversary of Chi Phi at the University of Georgia. Many alumni and their spouses were in attendance. We are lucky to be the oldest fraternity in the country to which we largely credit our success to our strong alumni association and continuing bond of brotherhood.
The Chi Phi house, which was newly constructed in 2014 through much of the support of our alumni, now lights up Miledge Avenue every Christmas season. The lighting of the house showcases the season of giving.
