Sylvia has more than 35 years of experience providing in hospital and at home health care period coupling her extensive medical background with her compassionate spirit created the perfect recipe for the role of caregiver for Jim. Kiah is a passionate content creator that has carved the perfect path to merge her corporate skills and creative talents. She is a 2020 southern producers lab fellow. Her award-winning SAG short film, “Eavesdropping on the Elders”, dedicated to her father and highlights his journey with ALS, recently received official selections from 17 film festivals and won "Best Film" in the Seattle black Film Festival in Morehouse College Film Festival.
Even with an extensive medical background as a nurse, Jim's primary caregiver and wife, Sylvia, has been pushed beyond her limit. Balancing her full time job and taking care of her husband 24/7 for years has stretched her thin. Along with recurring out of pocket expenses related to ALS, the most important need right now is for a full time caregiver which is overwhelmingly expensive.
